Creative Director Role

Forefront is looking for an inspiring, passionate and experienced leader capable of taking our team to the next level.

As the manager of our Creative and Experiential department, this person provides a unique blend of creative vision, client understanding, marketing expertise and business sense. Strategic direction and management is critical in delivering the best results for our clients. The Creative Director will:

  • Interface in some capacity with all projects and is responsible for the overall solution, crafted proposal and in some cases the presentation to the client
  • Have a natural eye for design and inspire dynamic ideas that connect brands with audiences.
  • Collaborate with a wide range of resources including event designers, visual artists, marketing managers, copywriters and account managers
  • Both inspire and brainstorm fresh ideas, manage deliverables, and captivate the target market
  • Understand what people want and know how to provoke action

Job Description

Supporting a broad range of projects including event planning and design, sponsorship activations, sales and corporate partnership proposals, consumer campaigns and various client service engagements – this role includes:

  • Understanding the clients' business objectives and how those objectives relate to the target audience
  • Leading the creative team and the creative process by generating innovative concepts and bringing those solutions to life with the broader team, which includes strategists, designers and account team members
  • Generating ideas that excite clients and expand their perceptions of what Forefront Networks can do to help them drive results
  • Being a highly creative, hyper-collaborative team player who draws out the best ideas and oversees top-notch execution in environmental design and production
  • Supporting the vision of projects and effectively communicate that vision to colleagues and clients by skillfully crafting content
  • Creating high-touch storytelling experiences through visual, environmental, and digital platforms
  • Working closely with all team members to ensure on-brand messaging
  • Crafting related editorial content for print, online, video and signage media
  • Remaining involved in production to ensure creative integrity, be a creative resource to the team as client needs or budgets change, further developing the client relationship
  • Building out a network of creatives and overseeing the team while responding to a premium portfolio of B2C and B2B clients
  • Working closely with strategy, account, innovation, video and production teams managing a variety of assignments and workflows in a fast-paced environment.

Creative Team Specific Requirements

  • Keep abreast of cultural events and trends that affect our clients' audiences

Skills and Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of related experience with 5+ years of creative direction in agency or corporate setting inclusive of the creation of marketing and advertising campaigns
  • 5+ years of experience in experiential marketing and live large-scale events. Credits at large scale festivals, tours, theatrical, live music, multimedia, hybrid art, performance forms and multi-format video installations are a plus
  • Firm business understanding, financial acumen and alignment to business objectives
  • Passion for collaboration throughout the progression of the transformative ideas
  • Past experience creating integrated content across all marketing channels from digital, social media, paid media, mobile, but also understand offline and print
  • Proven experience with content development (photography, videography, web)
  • Deep awareness of performance and installation trends, artistry and technology to create original concepts from the ground up
  • Proven track record of impacting brands through event creative projects while having a passion for content, all to drive revenue and build audience
  • Essential to have stellar presentation, problem-solving and project-management skills
  • Proficient in SketchUp, Adobe and 3D programs

+ Event Program Manager

Forefront is looking for a passionate and experienced events program manager to help plan and execute live and virtual events. This role requires excellent and detailed event-planning skills along with the ability to define project milestones and deadlines and coordinate with both internal teams and external contractors.

The ideal candidate can balance creativity with logistics, finance planning, and vendor management duties. They should excel at multitasking and balancing big picture concerns like venue and contractor selection with details like decor and meal planning, effectively utilizing resources and personnel to stage large-scale and intimate VIP live and virtual events.

The Forefront Events Program Manager will work on various programs within the company events portfolio. For 2021, that includes Live In The Vineyard (LITV) and Live In The Vineyard Goes Country (LITVGC) in Napa Valley, California, Keep Austin Weird Day, the Austin Trail of Lights and potentially other events throughout the United States.

This person must be detail oriented, thrive under pressure, have exceptional written and verbal communications skills and be a self starter. This person must also have a passion for people and customer service with a knack for hospitality providing meticulous care, attention, and service.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supporting the brainstorming of event concepts and themes
  • Organizing and managing every aspect of an assigned event or program
  • Creating event or program timelines and understanding the dependencies for each goal
  • Staffing an event or program team appropriately
  • Manage team members assigned to completing tasks and deliverables
  • Mapping out and ensuring the best possible customer journey from beginning to end
  • Anticipating attendee needs and making preparations against potential risk

+ Merchandise Manager

Forefront Networks produces large-scale public events including the Trail of Lights in Austin, TX and is currently looking for an experienced Merchandise Manager to join our team. The Merchandise Manager is responsible for building a product catalog, managing e-commerce and on site related merchandise business centers, developing merchandising and sales plans, overseeing operations and logistics, and managing comprehensive procurement and fulfillment. The ideal candidate is one who has had past managerial experience and a background in leading or participating in the planning, development, and deployment of merchandise centers at events.

Merchandise Manager (Based in Austin, TX)

Reports to the Chief Growth Officer with dotted line responsibility to VP of Hospitality, and Event Director. The Merchandise Manager will own all planning, operations, sales and logistics related to event merchandise including e-commerce sales and on-site event sales. This role requires significant coordination, organization, financial acumen, spatial planning, merchandising planning, creativity, and trend awareness.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Pre-event / season (June - Nov)

  • Migrate e-commerce site to new software platform
  • Re-build site or components of site as needed
  • Develop e-commerce product catalog
  • Develop on-site product catalog
  • Interview and secure product vendors & manage relationships
  • Create and propose financial plan including inventory investments and re-order schedules including item costs, price points, margins, turn around time, revenue, and volume projections
  • Create on-site operational & sales plans
  • Secure fulfillment vendors & manage relationships & processes
  • Create logistics plan & time tables to meet forecasted demand
  • Interface with marketing team to develop e-commerce marketing plans for B2C & B2B
  • Plan procurement, fulfillment, & logistics relating to corporate hospitality gifting

In-event / season (Nov - Dec)

  • Manage & maintain e-commerce platform related operations including ordering, shipping, fulfillment, customer service, and inventory levels
  • Manage on-site logistics & operations including ordering, delivery, fulfillment, merchandising, and selling optimization
  • Ensure on-site selling centers are staffed appropriately with trained personnel
  • Operationalize & manage corporate gifting procurement and fulfillment

Post event / season (Dec - Jan)

  • Retrieve and store any unsold inventory
  • Create remnant sales plan for unsold inventory
  • Minimize on-going costs of e-commerce platform until next selling season
  • Develop & present wrap report & insights for business center improvements

Success Measures

  • Profitably establish and grow the stated business lines
  • Enhance the guests experience thru a quality merch experience (selections, product quality, buying process, convenience, customer service)
  • Establish and execute seamless operations
  • Deliver products to constituents (customers, staff, corporate clients) on time and as promised

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of success in merchandise planning and management
  • 3-5+ years experience: working with & managing e-commerce platforms, and working with & managing event merchandise programs (large scale events preferred)
  • Ability to consistently drive results to meet & exceed agreed upon goals
  • Understanding of current event merchandise trends
  • Ability to communicate at various levels of an organization
  • Be meticulous with details & posses solid planning & management skills
  • Have excellent presentation, written & verbal communication skills
  • Be flexible & enjoy working with people
  • Strong organization & prioritization abilities
  • Strong knowledge of PC software programs, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel
  • Four year degree in business, communication, retail merchandising, marketing, or applicable field preferred
