Creative Director Role

Forefront is looking for an inspiring, passionate and experienced leader capable of taking our team to the next level.

As the manager of our Creative and Experiential department, this person provides a unique blend of creative vision, client understanding, marketing expertise and business sense. Strategic direction and management is critical in delivering the best results for our clients. The Creative Director will:

  • Interface in some capacity with all projects and is responsible for the overall solution, crafted proposal and in some cases the presentation to the client
  • Have a natural eye for design and inspire dynamic ideas that connect brands with audiences.
  • Collaborate with a wide range of resources including event designers, visual artists, marketing managers, copywriters and account managers
  • Both inspire and brainstorm fresh ideas, manage deliverables, and captivate the target market
  • Understand what people want and know how to provoke action

Job Description

Supporting a broad range of projects including event planning and design, sponsorship activations, sales and corporate partnership proposals, consumer campaigns and various client service engagements – this role includes:

  • Understanding the clients' business objectives and how those objectives relate to the target audience
  • Leading the creative team and the creative process by generating innovative concepts and bringing those solutions to life with the broader team, which includes strategists, designers and account team members
  • Generating ideas that excite clients and expand their perceptions of what Forefront Networks can do to help them drive results
  • Being a highly creative, hyper-collaborative team player who draws out the best ideas and oversees top-notch execution in environmental design and production
  • Supporting the vision of projects and effectively communicate that vision to colleagues and clients by skillfully crafting content
  • Creating high-touch storytelling experiences through visual, environmental, and digital platforms
  • Working closely with all team members to ensure on-brand messaging
  • Crafting related editorial content for print, online, video and signage media
  • Remaining involved in production to ensure creative integrity, be a creative resource to the team as client needs or budgets change, further developing the client relationship
  • Building out a network of creatives and overseeing the team while responding to a premium portfolio of B2C and B2B clients
  • Working closely with strategy, account, innovation, video and production teams managing a variety of assignments and workflows in a fast-paced environment.
  • Becoming part of a vibrant culture of great people that know how to work hard and share a laugh, or two
  • Leading and support the pitching of business to clients when requested

Creative Team Specific Requirements

  • Keep abreast of cultural events and trends that affect our clients' audiences
  • Strong understanding of how projects fit into the client's business and brand position
  • Knowledge of brand positioning and industry trends, including digital
  • Excellent creative and artistic presentation skills
  • Drive continuous process improvement to discover efficiencies and make recommendations with the creative department
  • Solid financial skills and budgeting management
  • Effective team-building skills
  • Superior writing skills with proven experience with message development and writing in different mediums
  • Excellent management skills and have a sense of urgency; proven ability to work on multiple projects at any given time
  • Provide proofreading and content edits as needed
  • Demonstrated creative competencies: client focus, accountability for results, organizational sophistication, ingenuity and communicating ideas

Skills and Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of related experience with 5+ years of creative direction in agency or corporate setting inclusive of the creation of marketing and advertising campaigns
  • 5+ years of experience in experiential marketing and live large-scale events. Credits at large scale festivals, tours, theatrical, live music, multimedia, hybrid art, performance forms and multi-format video installations are a plus
  • Firm business understanding, financial acumen and alignment to business objectives
  • Passion for collaboration throughout the progression of the transformative ideas
  • Past experience creating integrated content across all marketing channels from digital, social media, paid media, mobile, but also understand offline and print
  • Proven experience with content development (photography, videography, web)
  • Deep awareness of performance and installation trends, artistry and technology to create original concepts from the ground up
  • Proven track record of impacting brands through event creative projects while having a passion for content, all to drive revenue and build audience
  • Essential to have stellar presentation, problem-solving and project-management skills
  • Proficient in SketchUp, Adobe and 3D programs
